MPI Media Group Distribution Deal with Severin Films for DVD and Video on Demand
New York, NY – October 21, 2010 – Severin Films, a leading supplier of highly sought-after independent movies, and MPI Media Group, one of the largest independent film producers and distributors, today announced an agreement that gives MPI North American DVD and digital distribution rights to Severin titles. The agreement calls for the release of 10 to 12 titles a year.
The first film in the deal is the 10/26 release of the beloved 1972 undead biker favorite Psychomania, starring Oscar winner George Sanders (All About Eve) and a gang of marauding zombies on wheels. It will be followed by the highly anticipated US debut of Alejandro Jodorowsky's (El Topo) Santa Sangre and this year's Midnight Movie sensation Birdemic - Shock &Terror, which the New York Times called "A High-Flying Cult Hit!" The deal was negotiated by Greg Newman, Senior Vice President, on behalf of MPI, and Carl Daft, COO, on behalf of Severin Films.
